Teacher Resources

Classes visiting our museum have access to all of our exhibits, from hands-on demonstrations to more than 200 planes and spacecraft. Please see our attractions page for a full listing. It’s easy to schedule a class tour, just contact our Education Department at 503-434-4185 or email education@sprucegoose.org.

In addition, we offer a detailed Teacher’s Guide and Teacher Resource Center to help you plan your visit.K-12 educators can also participate in our annual Teacher Appreciation Night. And, don’t forget to view our collection of educational resource links, below.

Teacher Guides

Our mission is to instill a life-long passion for learning in every student. To this goal, our Teacher’s Guides are designed to enhance your lesson plan with background information, aeronautics vocabulary, book lists, and classroom activities.Each activity strives to integrate aerospace and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) related lessons with hands-on exercises. Our teaching guides also provide a springboard for learning that can be easily incorporated into your lesson plan. The science, math, history, and art connections are endless – just use the resource page at the back of our guide to fortify and expand your current curriculum.

Teacher Lesson Plans

Whether you teach an entire class or home school your own children, our Teacher Resource Center will have everything you need to create a comprehensive curriculum in aeronautics. The center will include lessons in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and house numerous materials and books that can be checked out. We are fortunate to have materials from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Civil Air Patrol (CAP), Boeing, Beech, Raytheon, Cessna, Air National Guard, Air Force, Army, Navy, Star Base, American Meteorological Society, National Planetary Society, National Space Society, other space and aviation museums, and numerous organizations affiliated with the aerospace industry and aerospace education.

Research Library

Welcome to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Research Library

Open hours: Monday through Friday, 2:30pm – 4pm

A great place to dive into all of your aviation and space research questions! EASM has a research library that contains over 3,000 books on everything from pilot biographies to U.S. Congressional Reports on the various space programs to general aviation information. We welcome all ages from young adult to senior, who are looking for information for your next book, school projects, or curriculum supplements.

Access to the Research Library and associated Archives is through the Collections Department staff. Please contact us before you visit the Library. It is solely a reference library and is available to all members of the public.
